What Does Membership Mean?
Membership
in OECU is just that—membership. Our members are not customers, clients or guests—they
are owners, and owners have many privileges. OECU is a member-owned
organization, and our members are our only shareholders.
As the OECU mission statement indicates, The Ohio Educational Credit Union is a full-service financial institution. It is our goal to recognize and understand the unique needs of individual members, and to fulfill those needs through a variety of diversified products and services. We are committed to the financial well-being of our membership, and strive every day to educate our members in methods of establishing and enhancing their financial well-being. |

Who are the Members of OECU?
The true strength of OECU lies in the diversity of its membership. This membership includes employees and retirees of public and private education systems within Ohio, students and alumni of these same schools, entire families of existing members, and over 400 other businesses and organizations such as health care providers, arts and social service organizations and manufacturing/service providers.
When you apply for OECU membership, we will send you an acknowledgement and a welcome packet. You will then have 30 days in which to make a deposit in your Regular Share Savings Account-a requirement for membership. Membership Application
