Savvy and Successful Scouts™

The Ohio Educational Credit Union (OECU) earlier this year created, in partnership with The Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, the Savvy and Successful Scouts™ (SaSS®) program. The program for girls ages 11-17 and their parents -- teaches the importance of money and credit management.

The pilot group of 13 girls and their parents met for six weeks in February through March. All course materials and training personal were provided by a grant from OECU.

The girls discussed topics ranging from financial planning to good debt versus bad debit. The parents were then charged to help reinforce the topics while applying real life situations.
